We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative for our client in the metals industry. This role provides customer service from initial inquiry through product delivery, grows assigned accounts, prepares quotes and proposals, and works toward sales and profit goals.

Pay: $70,000–$85,000 per year

Duties

• Increase sales and provide support for the current customer base as assigned.
• Prepare proposals, quotes, and sales contracts.
• Promptly respond to Request for Quotes for current and potential customers. Overall goal is no later than 24 hours per RFQ.
• Coordinate workflow with company staff to achieve closing of sales quotes.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals set by the Sales Manager, i.e., dollars booked and calls per day.
• Proactively review open orders and advise customers of delivery status changes.
• Provide technical assistance and solutions for customer returns.
• Manage account services through follow-up and quality checks.
• Develop and maintain existing product knowledge and sales materials.
• Formulate analysis of sales data to assist in establishing specific account pricing.
• Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Communicate effectively with other Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Representatives, management, and other co-workers.
• Prepare and present various sales status reports to the General Manager weekly that includes activity, follow-up, closing, and adherence to targets.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and codes of business ethics

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One or more years of experience in sales
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational, critical thinking skills, and time management skills
• Marketing experience, ensuring ability to recognize opportunities
• Ability to effectively multi-task
• Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with customers/suppliers
• Strong work ethic; initiative-taking
• Creative; forward-thinker

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related area
• Two or more years of experience in sales and marketing
• Product knowledge

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work may involve sitting, standing, using hands and fingers, kneeling, crawling, twisting, balancing, bending, climbing, speaking, listening, and close vision at 36 inches or less. Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with assistance and/or a lifting device as needed. The role requires frequent visual and auditory attention, discussions involving differing viewpoints, and continuous telephone use. The work environment may include hazardous machinery, sharp tools, moving objects, noise, heat, and humidity.
