The Senior Accountant will have broad responsibility across the general ledger while also gaining exposure to technical accounting matters, internal controls, audits, and process improvement.What this position offers:Work directly with the Controller and CFOTake ownership of key month-end close and general ledger activitiesExposure to technical accounting matters, including ASC 842 and ASC 606Support monthly financial statement preparation and account analysisParticipate in annual financial statement and 401(k) auditsWork with fixed assets, accruals, tax filings, and internal controlsOpportunity to recommend and implement accounting process improvementsBroad accounting responsibilities beyond a traditional Staff Accountant positionKey Responsibilities of the Senior AccountantSupport the Controller and CFO with Finance and Accounting department responsibilitiesPerform month-end close activities, including recurring, non-recurring, and adjusting journal entriesPrepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliationsReconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts and investigate discrepanciesPerform account analysis to identify unusual activity and financial variancesPrepare balance sheet supporting schedulesRecord fixed asset purchases and related depreciation and amortization entriesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accrualsAssist with preparation of monthly financial statementsMaintain general ledger activity and prepare required journal entriesSupport accounting and compliance activities related to ASC 842 and ASC 606Assist with local, state, and federal tax filings and other reporting requirementsSupport annual financial statement and 401(k) auditsAssist with evaluating and maintaining internal controlsDevelop spreadsheet reports and verify underlying financial informationSupport company Certificate of Insurance documentation as neededIdentify and recommend accounting process improvements while maintaining appropriate controlsAssist with special accounting projects and other department responsibilities as assignedQualifications for the Senior Accountant5+ years of accounting experience requiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or a bachelor's degree in Business with an Accounting emphasis preferredStrong hands-on experience with month-end close and general ledger accountingExperience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliationsExperience with bank and credit card reconciliationsUnderstanding of accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, and amortizationExperience assisting with financial statement preparation and account analysisExposure to ASC 842 and ASC 606 strongly preferredExperience supporting external audits and internal control activitiesStrong spreadsheet and financial analysis skillsExperience with ERP/accounting systems; NetSuite experience preferredAbility to independently manage recurring accounting deadlines and responsibilitiesMust be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirementsBenefits & Professional Development$80,000 – $85,000 base compensationDirect working relationship with the Controller and CFOBroad responsibility across corporate accounting and financial reportingExperience with ASC 842 and ASC 606 complianceExposure to annual financial and 401(k) auditsOpportunity to participate in accounting process and internal control improvementsWho This Senior Accountant Role Is Built ForThe ideal Senior Accountant has already developed a strong foundation in general ledger accounting and month-end close and can independently handle journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and account analysis.#INSEP2026
