Job Description
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Lansing, Michigan. This position focuses on accurate invoice processing, responsive internal and external communication, and dependable support across accounting-related tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing payables work with occasional payroll backup and scheduling coordination for one division.
Responsibilities:• Review, enter, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain accounts payable records and ensure supporting documentation is complete and properly organized.
• Respond to payment inquiries from vendors and internal teams with professionalism and strong customer service.
• Reconcile invoice details, research discrepancies, and work with appropriate contacts to resolve issues efficiently.
• Provide backup assistance for payroll-related tasks when needed to help maintain continuity of operations.
• Coordinate scheduling activities for one business division and keep related information up to date.
• Use QuickBooks and Excel to track financial information, prepare reports, and support daily accounting processes.• Experience handling accounts payable activities, including invoice review and payment support.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks for routine accounting or payable functions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and reviewing financial data.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• High attention to detail and accuracy when managing invoices and financial records.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable providing backup support for payroll and assisting with scheduling coordination.
