Savage is looking for a Financial & Logistics Coordinator (Business Process) that will support rail logistics functions and business process functions. We are stewards of data integrity, processing, analyzing, and validating Savage’s financial and operational data. All information flowing between the field and back-office is our responsibility whether it’s keyed by hand or interfaced across systems. We are the support hub for our field team members, acting as a single point of contact for all back-office support. The Basics: Location: Chicago, IL Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; Overtime as needed ( 100% In Office) Travel: May be required for training purposes These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage: Excellent benefits including medical, dental, and vision Paid Parental Leave and Military/Uniformed Services Leave Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays Profit Sharing and 401(k) with company match Company provided Uniforms & PPE (laundering included) A culture that appreciates Team Members What you’ll be doing: Financial Administration Process customer orders and manage inventory transactions Coordinate railcar inbound and outbound activities Maintain shipment documentation and bills of lading Communicate order status changes with customers and operations teams Logistics and Customer Operations Process invoices and accounts payable transactions Monitor revenue and expense activity Assist with data validation and financial reporting processes Support month-end and account reconciliation activities Office & Business Support Serve as a primary point of contact between field operations and back-office teams Support administrative, HR, and business process activities Maintain compliance with internal controls and record retention requirements Projects & Additional Duties Contribute to Business Process projects and process improvements Other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Logistics or related field Intermediate Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis preferred Working knowledge of accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end processes Experience supporting industrial, rail, or logistics operations Some physical requirements and working conditions: Sitting for extended periods of time (up to 6-10 hours per day), while working at computer or desk Frequently uses hands and fingers for keyboarding, writing, and operating office tools Reads printed materials and computer screens, adjusts focus, and maintains attention to detail Hears and speaks frequently, to communicate effectively in-person, by telephone, or via virtual platforms May be required to wear PPE, including but not limited to respirators, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed footwear, fire resistant and/or high visibility clothing, and hearing protection Additional Information: A complete job description is available upon request Savage is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplace California Residents Job Application Privacy Notice You may view available jobs at and apply using the online job posting.
