Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Surgical Assistants/Orthopedic Assistants are needed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position involves functioning as a surgical first or second assistant for complex and basic operative or invasive procedures across various specialties, including neuro, ENT, orthopedics, vascular, and general surgery. The role requires a strong background in robotics, neuro, or ENT procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evenings shift, with variable start times between 5:30 am and 7:00 am, totaling 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist or Nurse First Assistant with BLS certification. Experience in neuro, ENT, orthopedics, vascular, or general surgery required; specific procedures familiarity is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience supporting complex procedures, robot-assisted surgeries, and familiarity with EPIC charting system.
• Float: Cross-trained to all main OR specialties and Urology center, but no floating to other hospitals.
• Orientation: A 2-week program consisting of education, paperwork, and specialized procedure training in neuro, ortho, and urology.
• Additional Information: The role involves support on the unit, charting, and on-call responsibilities. Holiday, weekend, and night shift schedules are part of the rotation. Scrubs are provided, with approved coverings. Free parking is available on campus.
