Classification: Exempt Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000 The Opportunity A growing construction and infrastructure organization is seeking an experienced Recruiter to support hiring across professional, technical, operational, and leadership positions. This is not a posting-and-processing recruiting role. The Recruiter will own searches from strategy through offer, partner directly with hiring managers and leadership, and develop targeted approaches for hard-to-find construction talent. This role is ideal for a recruiter who understands the construction environment, enjoys proactive sourcing, and can build relationships with experienced candidates who may not be actively looking. What You'll Do Own full-cycle recruiting for exempt, professional, technical, operational, and leadership positions. Recruit for roles including Project Managers, Estimators, Project Engineers, Superintendents, field and operational leaders, and other construction and corporate positions. Partner with hiring managers and senior leaders to translate business and workforce needs into focused recruiting and sourcing strategies. Proactively identify and engage passive candidates rather than relying solely on applicants and job postings. Research relevant talent markets and competitor organizations to identify experienced construction professionals. Build talent pipelines and industry relationships that support current hiring needs and anticipated growth. Manage searches from initial sourcing and screening through interviews, references, compensation discussions, and accepted offers. Provide market insight regarding candidate availability, compensation, competitors, and recruiting conditions. Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, and recruiting activity within the applicant tracking system and other HR systems. The Recruiter We're Looking For You're an experienced recruiter who understands that strong construction recruiting starts with understanding the work. You can learn the technical requirements of a position, recognize relevant project and industry experience, and credibly engage candidates who may not be actively looking. You: Build trusted relationships with hiring managers, senior leaders, candidates, and industry professionals. Can assess technical experience, career progression, cultural alignment, and overall fit. Are comfortable directly sourcing and approaching passive candidates. Use industry networks, referrals, professional associations, job boards, social platforms, and other sourcing channels to reach specialized talent. Understand, or can quickly learn, specialized construction and infrastructure talent markets. Can manage multiple searches and competing priorities while maintaining a responsive and professional candidate experience. Know when a search strategy isn't producing the right talent and can proactively adjust your approach. What Success Looks Like Success in this role is more than closing requisitions. It's building stronger access to talent, creating better pipelines for hiring leaders, and delivering a consistent and professional recruiting experience. Maintain active pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs. Build ongoing relationships with high-potential passive candidates. Track recruiting activity and metrics including time-to-fill, pipeline activity, source effectiveness, offer acceptance, and hiring outcomes. Develop stronger sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill positions. Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, sourcing effectiveness, candidate experience, and overall hiring quality. Become a trusted recruiting partner to operational and senior leadership. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience. Construction or closely related industry recruiting experience required. Experience recruiting professional, technical, operational, and management-level positions. Demonstrated experience proactively sourcing and engaging passive candidates. Strong knowledge of construction roles, project teams, and career progression. Strong communication, interviewing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to independently manage multiple searches and priorities. Experience with applicant tracking systems, sourcing platforms, and recruiting tools. Preferred Qualifications Heavy civil, infrastructure, utility, underground construction, or related recruiting experience. Experience recruiting Project Managers, Estimators, Project Engineers, Superintendents, field leaders, and other construction professionals. Experience supporting a contractor, engineering/construction organization, or similarly technical environment. Established construction or infrastructure industry network. Experience conducting talent-market and competitor research. Experience with compensation discussions, offer negotiation, and recruiting metrics. Bachelor's degree preferred. Why This Role?
