About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the global delivery of its mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that ensure operational excellence and a significant impact on the organization's programs and services. This includes overseeing a large, geographically dispersed team and volunteer base, as well as managing a substantial operating budget. The COO will be expected to have a strong data-driven approach, utilize measurable insights to inform decision-making, and lead the creation of new programs and services. Partnering with the CEO and the leadership team, the COO will also play a key role in the strategic planning process. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' of relevant experience, with at least 7 years' in executive leadership. A Bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in managing large budgets and resources, and experience with military culture and organizations is highly valued. While not mandatory, a background in the nonprofit sector is a plus. The role demands a leader who is adept at assessing organizational effectiveness, ensuring resources are aligned with the most critical areas, and is willing and able to travel both internationally and domestically.
