Litigation Attorney

A respected Atlanta law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 2–8 years of litigation experience to join its insurance defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to develop greater responsibility within a sophisticated litigation practice while working alongside experienced and well-regarded attorneys. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement based in Atlanta, Georgia. Responsibilities The Associate Attorney will manage a varied caseload of insurance defense matters and participate in all phases of litigation. Responsibilities will include: Managing cases from initial assignment through resolution Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and discovery responses Conducting legal research and preparing case analyses Taking and defending depositions Attending hearings, mediations, and court proceedings Working with clients, insureds, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel Evaluating liability, damages, and potential exposure Preparing timely and substantive reports for clients and insurance carriers Developing case strategies and pursuing efficient, favorable resolutions Assisting with trial preparation and participating in trials as experience permits Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Active and in-good-standing membership with the State Bar of Georgia Approximately 2–8 years of civil litigation experience Insurance defense experience preferred, although attorneys with other relevant litigation backgrounds will be considered Experience handling written discovery, depositions, hearings, and motion practice Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills Ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain an organized caseload Professional communication skills and a client-service-oriented approach Ability to work both independently and collaboratively The firm offers a collegial and professional environment, meaningful hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and opportunities for continued professional development.
