Location: Livingston, NJ – This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll work closely with leadership and the accounting team in a collaborative office environment. Note: Applicants must have at least 2+ years of bookkeeping experience within a law firm. Experience with legal accounting systems and trust account reconciliation is strongly preferred. Job Description Manage daily bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile operating and attorney trust bank accounts. Maintain accurate general ledger records and prepare journal entries. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation. Support leadership with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis. Monitor accounting processes and recommend workflow improvements. Help maintain internal financial controls and compliance. Utilize legal accounting software to ensure accurate financial records. Collaborate with attorneys, leadership, and administrative staff on financial matters. Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information. Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping experience within a law firm. Strong knowledge of AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries. Experience preparing financial statements. Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with legal accounting software. Familiarity with Tabs, Clio, Elite, Aderant, or similar legal accounting platforms preferred. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
