Job Description

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of one year of experience using Epic EMR. Candidates should possess strong experience in Cardiac Telemetry and hold current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Experience Requirements

• 1+ years of nursing experience in a relevant area
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience in community hospitals and LTAC settings preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred

Patient Care Details

The average daily census for this unit is 24 patients, with staffing ratios of 4:1. The patient population consists of adults with cardiac diagnoses related to chest pain and arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and intermittent ventricular tachycardia. Patients may also present with non-cardiac illnesses but typically have a history of cardiac disease requiring telemetry monitoring.

Special Procedures and Unit Information

This unit provides care for patients undergoing various cardiac procedures, including:

• Heart catheterizations
• Nuclear stress tests
• Cardioversion
• Ablations
• Pacemaker or ICD implantations

Skills and Competencies

Preferred skills include:

• Cardiac telemetry management
• Blood product administration
• Phlebotomy
• PICC line management
• Central line care and management
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of heparin and insulin drips
• Use of rapid response and code teams
