Laboratory Automation Specialist South San Francisco, United States | Posted on 10/09/2026 Our client, a world leader in life sciences and biotechnology, islooking for a “Laboratory Automation Specialist” based in SSF,CA. Job Duration:Long Term Contract(Possibility of Extension) Pay Rate: $57/hr on W2 Company Benefits: Medical, Paid Sick leave,401K Hands-on Automation Specialist to support automation of complex invitro models (CIVMs), including organoids, spheroids, iPSC models and other3D cell culture systems. Key Responsibilities Develop, program,test, qualify and execute automated cell culture and cellular assayworkflows. Translate manualscientist-developed laboratory protocols into scalable, repeatableautomated workflows. Operate,troubleshoot and maintain automated liquid handling platforms andintegrated lab instruments. Work withplatforms such as Hamilton, Biomek, Opentrons, BioTek and automatedincubators, centrifuges, imagers and analyzers. Use Python and/orC# for automation, data processing and workflow development. Perform equipmentQC, dry runs, maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure system readiness. Collaborate withscientists, data engineers, software developers and external vendors. Develop SOPs,technical documentation and troubleshooting guides; train team members onautomation and Python practices. Required Qualifications PhD + 0–3 years ORMaster's + 4–6 years in Biomedical/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering,Cell/Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Toxicology,Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field. Hands-onexperience automating cell culture and/or cellular assays in pharma,biotech, CRO or academia. Experience with liquidhandling automation and laboratory instrumentation. Programmingexperience in Python and/or C#. Experiencetranslating manual cell culture/assay processes into automated protocols. Preferred 3D cell culture,organoids, spheroids, iPSC or organ-on-chip experience. GreenButtonGo,Thermo Momentum or HiRes Cellario. LIMS integrationand automated data/QC workflows.
