Estimator- Drywall

Job Summary DPR Construction is seeking a Drywall Estimator with at least 3 years of commercial construction experience. Estimators will work on commercial projects within our core markets (healthcare, advanced technology, higher education, life sciences, corporate office). Senior estimators collaborate with GC teams, architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to provide comprehensive drywall cost evaluations. Responsibilities Handle the project from the first estimate through contract formalization. Interpret limited information, ask strategic questions, and deliver complete drywall cost evaluation. Propose innovative solutions to complex cost, lead‑time, trade partner, or material issues. Make reliable cost predictions and estimate across all drywall construction aspects. Prepare detailed conceptual drywall cost estimates and studies from schematic or feasibility level documentation. Create variance summaries and value‑engineering studies as designs evolve. Assemble and present a comprehensive estimate package suitable for any audience. Collaborate with project team to determine staffing and requirements. Use unit costs and construction cost drivers to build estimates. Generate bid packages, instructions to bidders, trade clarifications, and comprehensive bid documents. Manage bidding process: solicit bids, communicate with bidders, evaluate proposals, maintain bid tally sheets. Coordinate with Operations Team (superintendents, foreman, project managers, etc.) to refine estimates and align with schedule and logistics. Recommend subcontractor awards and negotiate final subcontracts with trade partners. Participate in RFP responses and formal presentations. Engage to develop business with new and existing customers. Lead value‑engineering sessions with project and design teams. Review construction contracts, identify key risks affecting estimates, and lead pre‑construction project teams. Qualifications 3‑5 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator, preferably in DPR core markets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating software (e.g., WinEst), take‑off software (On‑Screen Takeoff), BIM tools (Revit, Assemble), project management software (CMiC), and scheduling software (Primavera). Flexible, detail‑oriented, strong listening and communication skills. Creative and innovative problem‑solving on a project basis. Ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and meet deadlines. Strong work ethic and a "can‑do" attitude. Bachelor’s degree a plus but not required.
