Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience preferred License: Active Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc.), PCA pumps, Medication drip management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF. Description: This position is for a MedSurg/Tele Registered Nurse. The nurse will work in a unit focused on decompression of emergency departments and specialty areas. The unit consists of multiple Med-Surg and Med-Tele units. The facility is a Level I Trauma Teaching Client with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, motor vehicle collisions, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA. Patient ratios vary depending on the unit and acuity. Support staff will include CNAs and secretaries who assist with patient care and unit organization. The position requires the nurse to float within designated regions as needed. Weekend rotation and holiday expectations apply.
