Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Overview Smithfield Foods, Inc. – a leading food company – is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the entire production process, ensure safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Lead front‑line operations, track yields, and adjust processes to keep production on schedule and within quality standards. Ensure compliance with USDA health standards, HACCP, and other safety regulations. Perform daily inspections, safety audits, and champion ergonomic initiatives. Train, coach, and motivate production employees; conduct line meetings and daily floor walkthroughs. Analyze production data, yields, efficiencies, and variances; collaborate with Operations Managers to improve workflows and reduce downtime and costs. Oversee routine equipment maintenance and facility setup to maintain peak performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university in Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2 years of relevant experience, including leadership, training, coaching or mentoring in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills, oral and written; ability to lead problem‑solving efforts for complex process issues. Analytical and mathematical aptitude to interpret production metrics. Motivational leadership style, fostering a respectful and team‑oriented work environment. Adaptable to fast‑paced, dynamic conditions, willing to work long hours, weekends, and varied temperature environments. Experience in food processing, knowledge of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures is a plus; bilingual language skills are a bonus. Physical Demands & Work Environment Plant environment includes wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise level moderate to loud in production area; frequent lifts of up to 50 pounds. Requires standing, walking, using hands for handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and talking or hearing. Work schedule supports work–life balance. Relocation Package Available.
