About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to provide strategic leadership for its fundraising and philanthropy initiatives. The CPO will be responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive fundraising and philanthropy strategies that support the organization's growth, mission advancement, and long-term financial sustainability. This includes leading all philanthropy functions such as annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, donor stewardship, foundation partnerships, and corporate giving. The successful candidate will also be tasked with expanding and diversifying philanthropic revenue streams, monitoring performance outcomes, and fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization. The CPO will work closely with the executive leadership team, including the CEO and the Board of Directors, to strengthen philanthropic support and advance the organization's mission. Applicants for the CPO position at the company should have a high school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. A minimum of 7-10 years' of nonprofit fundraising and philanthropy leadership experience is required, along with a proven track record in leading major gifts, fundraising campaigns, and managing philanthropic revenue goals. The role demands a candidate with strong supervisory and team development skills, as well as the ability to partner with executive leadership and boards of directors. A CFRE certification is also preferred. The CPO will be expected to represent the organization professionally in the community and at various engagement activities, and must be prepared to work occasional evenings and weekends.
