The Holiday Inn Portland Airport is looking for a confident, guest-focused Front Desk Supervisor to help lead our Front Office team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can keep the Front Desk organized and running smoothly while setting the example for excellent guest service.

What You'll Do

As our Front Desk Supervisor, you will help oversee the daily operation of the Front Desk and serve as a resource for our guests and Front Desk Associates.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervise daily Front Desk operations, including check-ins and check-outs
• Ensure reservations, room assignments, billing, and guest transactions are accurate
• Monitor Front Desk workflow and keep guest service moving efficiently
• Welcome guests and create a warm, professional first impression
• Respond to guest questions, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally
• Support associates when handling challenging guest situations
• Assist guests with directions, hotel amenities, and local information
• Promote IHG One Rewards membership and model enrollment behaviors for team
• Provide guidance and support to Front Desk Associates during shifts
• Assist with training new employees on Front Office procedures and systems
• Coach and provide feedback to team members and communicate performance concerns to management
• Assist with cash drawer balancing and verification of financial transactions
• Ensure accurate posting of room charges, taxes, and incidentals
• Maintain proper Front Desk documentation and records
• Protect guest privacy and confidential information
• Follow hotel safety, security, financial-control, and operational procedures

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a leader—not just someone who can work the Front Desk.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous hotel Front Desk experience – required
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience – preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• A professional, guest-focused attitude
• Ability to remain calm and effective during busy periods
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with hotel Property Management Systems, especially Opera, preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical & Work Environment

This is an active hotel position that requires:

• Standing for extended periods
• Frequent computer and office-equipment use
• Moving throughout the hotel as needed
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Working in a busy lobby and Front Desk environment
• Frequent interaction with guests, employees, and vendors
• Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled
