Facilities Technician II

Job Overview Facilities Technician II provides building and campus maintenance services, supervising when necessary. The role requires proficiency in general maintenance and specialized trade skills. Responsibilities Prioritize campus-wide preventive maintenance and predictive repairs. Work exclusively through the work order time, material, and asset tracking system. Maintain all tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks. Keep work, equipment, and construction areas clean and organized. Work in a team or independently on projects related to established priorities. Develop diagnostic-level understanding of building systems and equipment. Know building system points of entry, shut-offs, and emergency response locations. Coordinate with venues and trade vendors to provide access and support. Participate actively in safety tasks and incident responses within the facilities area of expertise. Adhere to strict safety standards. Remove snow in response to snow events. Operate focus equipment such as trucks, tractors, plows, carts, and front loaders. Drive forklifts and pallet jacks in warehouse and office environments. Operate small and large equipment and tools. Perform other duties as assigned. Trade or Discipline Expected Electrical/Lighting: System furniture, electrical system PM, light replacement. Mechanical: Level 3 diagnostics and repair, system PM schedules. Landscape/Irrigation: Ongoing plant and yard care, irrigation system management and repair, IoT systems coordination, programming, and diagnostics. Plumbing: Leak resolution, fixture replacement, new work planning. Working Environment and Physical Requirements Must pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam. Must carry, lift up to 70 lbs, and push/pull up to 50 lbs. Must walk six hours per day and perform repetitive tasks/motions. Requires good eye-hand-foot coordination, manual dexterity, color distinction, and hearing of alarms and normal speaking voice. Frequently requires climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling, crouching, balancing, and reaching above the head. Exposure to dust, fumes, and temperature extremes. Qualifications High school or equivalent plus construction trade school. 2–4 years of experience in building maintenance or a building trade. Detail oriented with strong mechanical aptitude, capable of performing multiple tasks. Even-tempered, able to work under high pressure. Read construction blueprints and understand specifications. ACAD ability a plus. Welding skills a plus. Diagnose, research, and repair systems and failures as needed. Establish and maintain rapport with employees in other departments. Work independently without immediate supervision. Operate construction trade power and hand tools. Occasionally operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, tractors, and large trucks. Pay Range $18.65 to $21.99 per hour.
