Position: Executive Director of Human Resources

(260-day contract with pay range $125,000 - $130,000)

Qualifications: Experience as a principal or central office administrator

Reports To: Superintendent/Designee

Job Goal: Provide leadership and strategic direction for all human resource functions within the school corporation. This executive-level position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies that support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, development, engagement, and retention of highly qualified certified and non-certified employees.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive human resources strategy aligned with the district's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
• Serve as a member of the Superintendent's executive leadership team and provide guidance on workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.
• Provide leadership in employee relations matters, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, investigations, and personnel concerns.
• Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, professional growth, workplace excellence, and retention.
• Analyze workforce trends and recommend strategies to address staffing needs and talent shortages.
• Develop partnerships with universities, educator preparation programs, professional organizations, and community agencies to strengthen talent pipelines.
• Oversee district-wide recruitment events, job fairs, branding initiatives, and digital recruitment efforts.
• Oversee all district hiring processes and ensure effective, consistent, transparent, and legally compliant employment procedures.
• Collaborate with building administrators and district department leaders to identify staffing needs and hire highly qualified personnel.
• Serve as a resource to supervisors regarding personnel management and employee performance issues.
• Ensure consistent application of board policies, administrative guidelines, collective bargaining agreements, and employment practices.
• Foster positive working relationships among employees, administrators, employee associations, and union representatives.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to employment, union relations, employee rights, and workplace safety.
• Oversee personnel records management and HR reporting requirements.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting school personnel practices and implement appropriate procedural updates.
• Coordinate responses to employment-related complaints, grievances, and investigations.
• Oversee administration of employee compensation, benefits, leave programs, and related policies.
• Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve workforce outcomes.
• Prepare reports and presentations for the Superintendent and Board of Education regarding staffing trends, recruitment efforts, retention metrics, and personnel matters as needed.
• Other assigned duties by the Superintendent
