Please refer to the Blain’s Farm & Fleet position description for accurate pay range information.Job DutiesResponsible for the day-to-day leadership up to 4 software engineers and technology required for business applications and systems to meet business centric KPIs and SLAs. Leads the engineering, design, testing and implementation of software solutions that provides a robust technical infrastructure used by business units and applications. Plays a lead role in creating & executing tactical plans/procedures for the team. Supports achieving the operational goals of the team.Sets project schedules, designing project parameters, and coordinating/monitoring tasksIs responsible for the software engineering strategic roadmap, definition, and implementationEnsures team members deliver project tasks on schedule and as designedParticipates in defining and developing tasks among team members within an agile environmentRecommends and implements process improvementsConducts technical presentations with peersCommits time, focus, and energy on technical development. Provide coaching and performance feedback for each AssociateAdvocates for team by moving decisions forward and eliminating barriersProvides day to day guidance, direction, and workload prioritization to the teamAssist team members with day-to-day work and execution of tasks as neededParticipate in continuing education and training as appropriate.Participate in career development activities for the Software Engineer teamComplete performance evaluations for Software Engineer teamResolves customer complaints with software, and responds to suggestions for software modificationsParticipate in development of software user manualsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications5 or more years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, and/or designLeadership experience is preferredExperience with agile developmentBachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field3 + years in experience in software engineering, systems engineering, and/or designExperience with Agile developmentProficient skills with Microsoft Office applicationsUp to 10% of travelEEO StatementBlain Supply, Inc and Blain’s Farm and Fleet (collectively “Blain’s”) is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
