Vice President of Tax

About the Opportunity

A growing organization is seeking a Vice President of Tax to lead its tax function and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This role offers the opportunity to oversee complex tax matters, support business initiatives, and help drive the continued evolution of the finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead tax planning, compliance, reporting, and audit activities
• Develop and execute tax strategies aligned with business objectives
• Oversee federal, state, and local tax matters
• Support acquisitions, transactions, and other strategic initiatives
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and executive leadership
• Build and develop talent within the tax function
• Drive process improvements, controls, and operational efficiencies
• Manage external advisors and key stakeholder relationships
• Advise leadership on tax risk, planning opportunities, and regulatory developments

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination of both
• Experience leading tax projects, initiatives, or teams
• Knowledge of tax compliance, reporting, and planning concepts
• Exposure to transactions, acquisitions, or other strategic business activities preferred
• Experience working within a complex business environment preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
• CPA or advanced tax/accounting credentials are a plus
