Qualifications:

• Current and valid Indiana state license in Visual Impairment (VI)
• Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Ability to collaborate with educational teams, families, and other professionals
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Empathetic approach and dedication to student-centered learning

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction in line with the student’s learning plan, emphasizing adaptive techniques and accessible materials
• Work closely with the student to foster independence, confidence, and skill development
• Adapt curriculum and resources for visual accessibility
• Use assistive technology and teach its effective application
• Monitor academic progress and document achievements
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a supportive learning environment
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing educational planning
