Accounting Operations Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Supervisor to lead a team responsible for accurate, timely, and well-controlled transaction processing and accounting support. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing employees, managing priorities, solving complex operational issues, and improving financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting operations professionals.
• Establish clear expectations, performance goals, and weekly priorities.
• Assign and review work based on team members' skills, experience, and workload.
• Monitor workflow, productivity, accuracy, deadlines, and operational results.
• Provide clear instructions, guidance, and regular performance feedback.
• Ensure employees understand and follow applicable accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and external business partners.
• Review operational issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, efficiency, and service delivery.
• Adjust procedures and workflows to address business needs and changing priorities.
• Track performance and take action to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
• Promote a collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement-focused team environment.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Experience leading and coaching a team within accounting operations, finance operations, or transaction processing.
• Experience assigning and reviewing work, managing priorities, and meeting recurring deadlines.
• Strong understanding of accounting operations, financial controls, and transaction-processing practices.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective process improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain policies and procedures clearly.
• Strong organizational, decision-making, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience leading process-improvement initiatives.
• Experience working within a controlled financial operations environment.
• Familiarity with performance metrics, workflow management, and operational reporting.
