Technical Support Engineer

SUMMARY The Technical Support Engineer provides technical expertise for vacuum solutions, offering pre‑ and post‑sales support to field service engineers, service technicians, sales engineers, and company customers. The role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing complex electro‑mechanical equipment. This is not an IT position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Investigate warranty issues and complete warranty re‑bills in accordance with factory requirements. Track warranty trends to identify application or misuse issues. Act as liaison between the factory and PV‑US inquiries on technical topics. Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems or bugs to design or software engineering. Maintain positive customer relationships and focus while responding to needs. Provide customer installation and training support as needed. Diagnose failure modes and compose failure analysis reports. Follow quality and safety procedures, and abide by corporate Code of Conduct. Work in a team‑oriented environment, demonstrate punctuality and strong interpersonal skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Walking, sitting, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and mobility are required. Work requires computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and data entry. Communication, listening, and speaking skills are essential. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: BS degree or equivalent with at least 6 years diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic systems or customer service on company systems. In‑depth product knowledge required or ability to learn. Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English. Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills, including accurate use of measurement equipment. Reasoning Ability: Routine assignments with limited judgment required; detailed instructions typically provided. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None required. TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT Manipulate small and large tools for fine and major adjustments to intricate test apparatus and equipment. Lift up to sixty pounds. Travel by air and drive to customer sites.
