2nd Shift Manual Machinist

Thompson First Group is seeking Manual Machinist for temporary to hire opportunities for a local client in Aston, PA.

The right candidate will have at least one year of experience as a machinist, be able to interpret blueprints and use tools and measuring instruments, and be able to accurately enter data into a data collection system.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure company goals and deadlines are being met.
• Set-up and operate milling centers to machine parts to meet customer specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
• Use a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Measures, marks, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
• Ensures quality is in accordance with company standards
• Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on MO's (Manufacturing Orders).
• Ensure parts and tools are loaded correctly and that quality is consistently maintained throughout the assignment.
• Change and adjust cutters as required to ensure quality and tolerance requirements have been met.
• Ensure machinery and tools are adequately maintained and serviced.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
