Controls Technician

Job Title: Controls TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Controls Technician to support our highly automated manufacturing operations within a cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, cameras, servos, and related manufacturing equipment. This role requires a proactive problem solver who can swiftly address production issues, identify root causes, and implement immediate and long-term solutions to enhance equipment reliability, quality, and overall operational performance. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, cameras, and servo-driven systems. Respond to equipment downtime and production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Provide technical support to production, maintenance, setup, and engineering teams. Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase uptime, reduce scrap, and improve efficiency. Monitor and verify manufacturing processes to ensure equipment and processes are operating within specifications. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve automation systems and manufacturing processes. Essential Skills Proficiency in troubleshooting automation equipment, such as PLCs, vision systems, servos, motors, and wiring. Experience with Fanuc robot programming. Hands-on experience in manufacturing support. Additional Skills & Qualifications Expertise in troubleshooting, robotics, automation, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and repair. Experience with Cognex systems. Work Environment This position offers two shifts: 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM and 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The role requires active engagement in a production/manufacturing environment, working 42-50 hours per week, with occasional Saturday work if necessary. The Controls Technician will report to the shift supervisor and is expected to be hands‑on in their approach. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Holland, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $70000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
