Human Resources Business Partner | Private Equity Location: Chicago, IL Industry: Private Equity / Financial Services A highly respected middle-market private equity firm is seeking a high-caliber Human Resources Business Partner to join its Chicago team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who wants meaningful visibility into the business and the opportunity to partner closely with senior leadership. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across the firm and play an important role in shaping the employee experience, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness. This individual will have broad exposure to the firm's leadership team and investment and corporate functions. The Opportunity Partner directly with the CHRO and senior leaders on key people and organizational initiatives Serve as a trusted HR advisor to employees and leaders across the organization Provide hands‑on HRBP support across performance management, employee relations, talent development, engagement, and organizational planning Develop a strong understanding of the firm's business and translate business priorities into effective people strategies Support talent management, succession planning, organizational development, and workforce planning initiatives Partner with Talent Acquisition and other internal teams to ensure strong talent and employee strategies Help foster a high‑performance, collaborative culture within a sophisticated financial services environment Take ownership of strategic HR projects with significant visibility to senior leadership Act as a thoughtful, solutions‑oriented partner as the firm continues to grow and evolve What We're Looking For 8-13 years of progressive HR experience, including significant HRBP experience Experience supporting senior‑level stakeholders in financial services, private equity, professional services, or another high‑performance environment preferred Financial Services or Professional Services experience required Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to connect people strategy to business objectives Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and influencing skills Comfortable working with senior executives and navigating a sophisticated, fast‑paced organization Strong judgment, discretion, and executive presence Highly proactive and hands‑on, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining close to the details Bachelor's degree preferred The Equus Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and takes pride in maintaining a diverse environment.
