Position Title: Procurement Specialist

Expected Duration: 9+ Months 

Location: Orlando, FL 32826

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

 

Job Description

• We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, RFQ/RFP development, and purchase order execution in SAP and a proven ability to negotiate value, ensure on-time delivery, and maintain accurate procurement data.

 

Responsibilities:

• Execute source selection, develop RFQs/RFPs, and prepare bid packages.
• Create purchase orders up to $30K, subject to manager discretion and approvals.
• Request and track supplier certifications, acknowledgements, and delivery status.
• Negotiate with suppliers with pre-approval from manager and/or senior lead.
• Monitor supplier performance, price trends, and market dynamics to identify leverage opportunities.
• Review proposals, analyze supplier operations, and recommend suppliers aligned to quality, cost, and schedule.
• Assist senior buyers with creation and maintenance of nine-tab folders and required records.
• Track and resolve past-due purchase orders, ensuring SAP updates and accurate notes.
• Troubleshoot supplier invoices and facilitate payment resolution.
• Participate in supplier visits and support agenda development for program reviews.
• Maintain ethical standards and support other projects and initiatives as assigned.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of directly related purchasing or subcontracting experience, OR associate degree and 4+ years, OR high school/equivalent and 8+ years.
• Procurement experience in government, industrial, or aerospace environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to present financial information clearly.
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP for purchasing and PO management.
• Strong communication and supplier interface skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
• Ability to travel as needed and work weekends, other shifts, and overtime as required.
• Ability to obtain a public trust position and, if required, a DoD security clearance. US citizenship and US person status required.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with aerospace commodities, services, and tooling procurement.
• Background in cost and price analysis and supplier performance management.
