Location: Horsehead, NY

Pay Rate: $180,000 - 200,000

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Director of Operations for a leading nuclear instrumentation products manufacturer which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing operations, quality compliance, and customer relations looking to further their career in the nuclear instrumentation industry.

• Oversee operations teams spanning Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, Procurement, and Quality Assurance
\n
• Serve as site General Manager with P&L accountability, strategic planning, and operational oversight across nuclear instrumentation product lines
\n
• Drive manufacturing operations excellence, safety culture, and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated environment
\n
• Manage key customer relationships as chief customer advocate; oversee site backlog and delivery commitment integrity
\n
• Execute continuous improvement initiatives and strategic capacity planning to optimize productivity and cost efficiency
\n

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree
\n
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred
\n
• 5-10+ years of manufacturing operations experience with demonstrated progression into senior operations leadership roles
\n
• Advanced proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, P&L management, union labor relations, and direct people management in manufacturing environments
\n
• Direct experience in commercial nuclear, defense, or scientific-instrumentation industries
\n
• Experience managing low-volume, highly regulated, project-based manufacturing operations
\n
• Knowledge of nuclear industry quality regime (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1)
\n
• Government contracting experience and familiarity with export control regulations (ITAR/EAR)
\n
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP)
\n
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance
\n
