Fintech Transactions Associate Attorney / Special Counsel – 5+ Years

Direct Counsel is seeking a Fintech Transactions Associate Attorney or Special Counsel to join a sophisticated Financial Services Regulatory practice at a leading law firm. This opportunity is available in Washington, D.C., Miami, FL, or New York, NY .

Position Overview

The firm is seeking an experienced transactional attorney with 5+ years of experience handling sophisticated technology and commercial transactions, with a particular focus on the fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, and/or digital assets sectors.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience drafting and negotiating complex technology and commercial agreements and will be comfortable working at the intersection of technology transactions and financial services regulation.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate sophisticated technology and commercial agreements , including:
  • Technology licensing agreements
  • SaaS agreements
  • Cloud services agreements
  • Strategic partnership agreements
  • Other complex commercial arrangements
• Advise clients in the fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, and digital assets industries.
• Handle transactions involving innovative financial technology products and platforms.
• Advise on bank-fintech partnerships, payments, blockchain, cryptocurrency, stablecoins, tokenization, custody, and related infrastructure .
• Work closely with regulatory and corporate attorneys to structure and launch innovative products and commercial relationships.
• Counsel clients on commercial and transactional considerations arising at the intersection of technology and financial services regulation .
• Independently manage sophisticated transactions and client relationships.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex regulatory, corporate, and transactional issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience handling sophisticated technology and commercial transactions.
• Significant experience advising clients in the fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, and/or digital assets sectors.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex technology and commercial agreements.
• Experience with fintech and digital asset products, platforms, and infrastructure strongly preferred.
• Experience with one or more of the following is particularly desirable:
  • Bank-fintech partnerships
  • Payments
  • Blockchain
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Stablecoins
  • Tokenization
  • Digital asset custody
  • Related financial technology infrastructure
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills .
• Sound commercial judgment and ability to provide practical legal advice.
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters and client relationships.
• Experience at a nationally recognized law firm with a technology transactions, fintech, and/or digital assets practice preferred.

Compensation

$365,000+ annually , with the final offer dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
