About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse – Virginia**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.**Highlights:** - Float pool position rotating through multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical/Surgical, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby- 60 hours of orientation to support successful onboarding- Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2-1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5- Epic electronic medical record system utilized throughout facility- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, lift teams, and rapid response teams- Access to cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practice in a regional pediatric transfer center**Requirements:** - Active Virginia RN license (may submit with license pending; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required- NICU experience required; must be comfortable floating to all pediatric areas- Previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU highly preferred- Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred- Epic EMR experience required- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required- Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may submit with pending; $185 cost)- Travel nursing experience required- Must adhere to facility float policy and float within scope of practice as needed- Nursys verification and references required with submission- BSN preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to develop and utilize diverse pediatric nursing skills across multiple specialty areas in a leading regional pediatric center.
