About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool RN – Virginia**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Central Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Days; 36 or 48 hours per week; 13-week assignment; every other weekend and every other holiday**Highlights:**- Float to multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby- Work with a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy- Epic EMR system utilized facility-wide- 60 hours of orientation provided- BSN preferred; travel nursing experience required- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated; up to 40 hours of time off approved (not during first 2 weeks)**Requirements:**- Current Virginia RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required- NICU experience required; must be comfortable floating across all pediatric specialties- Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience highly preferred- Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred- Epic EMR experience required- Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required- Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with pending; $185 cost)- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)- Must be comfortable with pediatric dosage calculations, IV starts, and various specialized equipment- References and Nursys verification required with submission**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This challenging float pool position offers experienced pediatric nurses the opportunity to utilize their diverse skill set across multiple specialty units, caring for patients ranging from neonates to adolescents.
