We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Human Resources Manager to lead and manage the full scope of HR operations at our Virginia Beach manufacturing facility. This role serves as both a strategic partner to leadership and a day‑to‑day HR resource for employees and managers. The HR Manager is responsible for administering HR programs, supporting recruitment and onboarding, managing employee relations, overseeing benefits and leave administration, coordinating payroll, supporting compliance, and ensuring company policies are consistently applied. Key Responsibilities The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the following: Recruiting and Onboarding Partner with department managers to support recruitment needs. Coordinate job postings, interviews, candidate communication, and hiring processes. Oversee new hire orientation and onboarding activities. Support workforce planning and staffing needs. Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and Leave Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, paid time off, leave, and related employee programs. Communicate benefits information to employees and assist with benefit‑related questions. Work with brokers, carriers, and vendors to resolve benefit or claim issues. Coordinate payroll‑related information with Finance and ensure accurate HR data. Support leave administration, including FMLA and other applicable leave requirements. Employee Relations and Performance Management Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers. Support management with coaching, corrective action, disciplinary procedures, and documentation. Assist with resolving workplace concerns, employee complaints, and conflict resolution. Conduct investigations and maintain appropriate documentation. Support performance management processes and employee development activities. HR Compliance, Policies, and Procedures Monitor and apply applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations. Maintain compliance with HR‑related requirements, including ADA, ADEA, HIPAA, FMLA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations. Review, update, and administer HR policies, procedures, and employee standards. Maintain accurate employee records and confidential HR documentation. Support audits, reporting, hearings, and investigations as needed. Training and Organizational Support Support training programs and compliance‑related training needs. Write and maintain job descriptions. Advise managers on company policies, organizational matters, and recommended improvements. Recommend HR systems, processes, and programs that align with company goals. Handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience. Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment compliance. Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, discipline, performance management, and manager coaching. Experience with benefits administration, payroll coordination, recruiting, onboarding, and leave administration. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and confidential matters. Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills. Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP certification. Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Experience with HRIS. The position may involve walking the facility, interacting with equipment and personnel, and using required personal protective equipment in designated areas.
