Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit RN Springfield, MA. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a Medical Intermediate Care Unit that is split between medical-telemetry and medical step-down services. The position supports patients with conditions such as pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, diabetic ketoacidosis, and sepsis, among others, utilizing advanced clinical skills and protocols.

Job Details

• Position: RN - Intermediate Care at the organizations facility in Springfield, MA.
• Unit Description: Daly 6B is a Medical Intermediate Care Unit with 42 bedssplit evenly between medical-telemetry and step-down.
• Expected Ratios: Intermediate care 1:3, Medical 1:6.
• Cases seen: Pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, diabetic ketoacidosis, HHS, alcohol withdrawal, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, urinary tract infections, respiratory failure.
• Certifications required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Schedule: Nights shift, twelve hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Minimum Qualifications: Valid ACLS and BLS certifications, 1-2 years of relevant clinical experience, experience with trachs, vents, high-flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips, BiPaP, and telemetry.
• Additional Information: Floating to other units can happen at times, and RN's work on both sides of the floor (medical-telemetry & IMC).
