Metal Enclosure Reconditioning Technician

Pay: $37,000–$50,000 per year + Bonus

Job Overview

This is a cross-functional role with a primary focus on metal reconditioning and a secondary support role in warehouse operations. This cross-functional role focuses primarily on restoring, refinishing, and preparing electrical equipment enclosures for resale while also supporting warehouse operations as needed.

The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, enjoys working with their hands, and thrives in an active warehouse environment. Experience with painting, sanding, metal finishing, forklift operation, and equipment handling is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Metal Reconditioning & Production

• Paint and recondition metal components and equipment
• Sand, grind, clean, and prepare surfaces for finishing
• Remove rust, residue, and imperfections
• Apply primer, coatings, and paint to company standards
• Mask and protect components during painting
• Inspect finished work for quality and consistency
• Prepare and complete reconditioning and non-painting work orders
• Assist with panelboard and switchboard assembly (cans, doors, interiors, breakers, hardware)
• Cross-train at least two employees in reconditioning processes

Equipment & Safety

• Maintain tools, spray equipment, and workspace
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Report defects, quality issues, or safety concerns

Warehouse & Operations Support

• Provide hands-on warehouse support as needed
• Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Support daily operations and team workflow
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing inventory
• Help load/unload equipment safely
• Transport equipment between locations as needed
• Share knowledge and assist with training team members when directed

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in painting, sanding, metal finishing, auto body, fabrication, or similar work
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to stand and perform physical work throughout the day
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills

Preferred

• Experience with industrial spray equipment or coatings
• Familiarity with electrical enclosures, panelboards, or switchboard assembly
• Warehouse or production environment experience

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Overtime available based on production needs
