Marketing Coordinator

Marketing Coordinator (Hybrid, AEC Required) ESS Companies (ESSC) is a 100% employee‑owned group of heavy civil construction companies. We are looking for a Marketing Coordinator to support our subsidiaries – Emery Sapp & Sons, Achen‑Gardner Construction, Rummel Construction, Monks Construction, ESCO Construction, and Premier Testing Laboratories – and help tell our story. Responsibilities Writing & Digital Content Management (60%) – Develop creative solutions with cross‑functional teams; manage and update the ESSC and subsidiary brand websites; apply SEO basics and identify opportunities to improve user experience; collaborate on campaigns and website updates; coordinate marketing content for emails, text messages, social media, promotional material and e‑commerce; conduct research, set KPIs, develop analytics, and use communication tech tools to track performance; manage day‑to‑day deadlines and approvals. Enterprise Capabilities Positioning & Documentation (20%) – Research, write, and maintain documentation that articulates the company’s enterprise‑level capabilities; develop and update capabilities statements, one‑pagers, case studies, and other collateral; maintain a centralized library of approved content assets. Proposal & Pursuit Management (10%) – Coordinate and contribute to RFQ/RFP responses, qualification packages, and pursuit materials; manage proposal timelines, track deadlines, gather pursuit‑specific information; write, edit, and format proposal content including executive summaries, project narratives, and resumes; apply enterprise capabilities documentation to showcase value. Event Support (10%) – Provide logistical and marketing support for local and enterprise‑level events, including internal company events, leadership meetings, and community sponsorships; assist with vendor coordination, collateral preparation, registration management, and on‑site support; develop registration websites that align with campaign goals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline. 2–3 years of marketing experience. Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Exceptional writing skills across formats and brand voice/tone. Experience in the A/E/C industry, specifically with proposal writing and business development support. Solid experience in social and digital marketing tactics, including analytics and performance tracking. Comfort managing a website and content in a CMS (WordPress preferred); experience working with UX/UI designers and developers. Detail‑oriented with strong proofreading and quality control skills. Strong collaborator, self‑starter, analytical thinker with sound judgment. Ability to translate complex information into layperson terms. Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines. Strong project management skills, workflow and stakeholder coordination. Positive, team‑oriented attitude and sense of humor. Proficiency with Monday (project management), WordPress, Sprout (social media), Mailchimp, and Cision (PR) is a plus. Spanish language proficiency is a bonus. Location & Work Schedule Primary location: Kansas City, MO (River Market district). Other office locations may be considered. Regional travel may be required, including a few overnight stays. Hybrid work schedule: Monday/Friday – Remote; Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday – Office.
