Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered occupational therapy services in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.

The Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, administer therapeutic interventions, and monitor outcomes in accordance with physician orders, professional standards, and applicable policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with evidence-based treatment approaches for common outpatient conditions affecting the upper extremity, including degenerative conditions, neurological impairments, orthopedic conditions, and post-operative care.

Essential Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments based on patient needs, diagnoses, and physician orders.

Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals based on evaluation findings and patient needs.

Administer occupational therapy treatments designed to restore function, improve independence, and prevent disability.

Utilize evidence-based treatment techniques, including:

Manual therapy

Neuro-rehabilitation techniques

Therapeutic exercise and modalities

Functional activities

Other appropriate occupational therapy interventions

Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatment and modify the plan of care when appropriate.

Perform reassessments according to established policies and clinical standards.

Assess pain and other factors affecting a patient's ability to participate in rehabilitation and communicate concerns to the appropriate physician or provider.

Help patients achieve their highest possible level of function and independence within their individual capabilities.

Develop and implement patient and caregiver education plans.

Provide instruction regarding home exercise programs, treatment plans, functional limitations, and strategies to promote independence.

Address the psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and families with respect and sensitivity.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.

Operate therapy equipment safely and correctly.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, clinical staff, and administrative personnel.

Coordinate patient care with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Consult with other departments and healthcare professionals as appropriate.

Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives.

Provide clinical direction and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants, rehabilitation aides, mobility technicians, students, and other appropriate personnel.

Assist with staff orientation, in-service education, and professional development activities.

Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements.

Maintain records related to patient care and department operations.

Ensure patient charges are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or equivalent.

Current Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for licensure in New Hampshire.

Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Strong clinical assessment and treatment-planning skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience providing Occupational Therapy in an outpatient setting — Strongly Preferred.

Experience treating upper-extremity conditions, including:

Degenerative conditions

Neurological impairments

Orthopedic conditions

Post-operative conditions

Familiarity with current evidence-based occupational therapy practices.

Experience with manual therapy, neuro-rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, and functional activities.

Experience working with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $37.35–$57.74

Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and applicable organizational pay practices.

Pay Details: $36.35 to $37.35 per hour
