Location: West Orange, NJ Area

Are you a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) looking for a rewarding opportunity outside of the traditional healthcare setting? We are seeking a dedicated School RN to join a supportive school community in the West Orange, New Jersey area for the upcoming school year.
This is an excellent opportunity to use your clinical expertise while building meaningful relationships with students and helping create a safe, healthy environment where they can thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency medical response to students and staff.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and district policies.
- Monitor students with chronic and acute medical conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
- Develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and student health records.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments while maintaining accurate and confidential documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and healthcare providers to support student health and academic success.
- Participate in IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings when appropriate.
- Promote health education, wellness, and disease prevention throughout the school community.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license .
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous school nursing, pediatric, clinic, community health, or related nursing experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with students, families, and school staff.
