ACT-Float | Advanced Care Technician CNA

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT-Float) to provide essential patient care and comfort under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This role supports infant, pediatric, and adult patients, ensuring their daily needs are met with kindness and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to unit safety and infection control protocols.
• Offer comfort measures and assist patients with daily activities and meals.
• Record and communicate vital signs and patient observations to supervisors.
• Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
• Assist with patient transport as needed.
• Prepare formula in the NICU department when required.

Qualifications

• ACT: Preferred 3-6 months experience in an acute care setting.
• ACT-Float: Preferred 1 year experience in acute care.
• NICU Department: Required minimum 2 years CNA experience; pediatric experience highly valued.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to follow instructions in English.
• Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus.

Education

• Must hold one or more of the following upon hire:
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
  • Military Corpsman
  • Nursing student with fundamentals of nursing completed, including initial assessment and vital signs

Certification

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
• NVCI certification within 90 days of hire or transfer for specific departments.
• Completion of at least 10 continuing education hours annually related to the role.

All candidates must successfully pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check prior to employment.
