Registered Nurse, Med Surge, 36 Hours (Day/Nights)

Position Summary Registered Nurse (RN) – BMC Brighton B-7 unit. 36‑hour rotating day/night shifts on a 30‑bed surgical/step‑down (PCC level) unit serving orthopedics, vascular medicine, thoracic, bariatric, and complex medicine patients. Job Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care in the B‑7 unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education. Communicate effectively with health‑care team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data. Follow BMC nursing guidelines and policies. Assist leadership in quality improvement projects as needed. Job Requirements Licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Diploma, ASN, or BSN preferred; ability to obtain a BSN within four years. Minimum one year of RN experience preferred; prior Med‑Surg experience a plus. BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire. NIHSS certification preferred or obtainable during orientation. PCC certification preferred; PCC training will be provided. Telemetry experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to perform job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus.
