Registered Vascular Technologist-Associate

Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for performing a variety of noninvasive hemodynamic evaluations to detect obstructions, as ordered by a physician.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and advanced vascular testing and related duties for the diagnosis of vascular disease, in a patient care and/or academic/research environment.

Writes preliminary impressions of test results.

Reviews and discusses findings with proper physician.

Assists with the preparation of case studies and documentation for accreditation of the Vascular Lab by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) vascular testing.

Ensures exams are completed and reports done in the appropriate manner and time.

Provides assistance to patients and staff members as needed.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of hemodynamics relative to vascular arterial disease, and knowledge of standards for International Accreditation Commission in Vascular Testing (IAC).

Able to perform portable studies in any setting as ordered by physicians.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with proficiency in Microsoft word/ data entry in EMR's.

Ability to work efficiently, independently, with good organizational skills.

Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

EDUCATION: Associate's Degree degree and completion of a formal vascular technology training program or two (2) years in an allied health care training program is required.

EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of clinical experience in a vascular laboratory as a Registered Vascular Technologist is required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Active RVT required.

One (1) year of clinical experience in a vascular laboratory as a technologist (non-registered) or vascular technologist is required.

• Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
