ABOUT THE HART AND THE HUNTER (Opening Soon): Palihotel Melrose is a boutique hotel offering 33 intimate, fun, and comfortable guest rooms and a Lobby Lounge, and will soon be home again to The Hart and The Hunter restaurant, which has come full circle. Born in Los Angeles in 2012, it wandered north to Seattle, planted itself steps from world-famous Pike Place Market, where it's still a neighborhood staple known for elevated classics like our World-Famous Butter Biscuits, Chicken Pot Pie, and Pie à la Mode, and is now finding its way back home to Palihotel Melrose, right where it all started.

POSITION PROFILE:

The Barista/Server brings the coffee bar and floor service together at The Hart and The Hunter, preparing espresso drinks and refreshments while creating a warm, welcoming guest experience. You'll be the upbeat, detail-oriented presence guests remember.

THE TASK AT HAND:

Create a warm, welcoming guest experience, from greeting to farewell, that turns first-time guests into regulars. Learn our steps of service, products, menu, and systems inside and out. Take orders, prepare espresso drinks, and serve coffee and other refreshments, gladly adjusting milk, sugar, and shot ratios to guest preference. Keep the coffee bar and side-work areas restocked, replenished, prepped, and organized, working with the team to keep everything running smoothly. Communicate openly with restaurant managers on customer feedback, and collaborate with hotel staff so overnight guests know about our offerings and promotions. Comply with health and safety regulations, and accurately receive and process payments.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Required Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and follow directions through to completion. A clear thinker who stays calm under pressure, resolves problems with good judgment, and works cohesively as part of a team. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Preferred 1 year of related restaurant experience preferred. Physical Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 30 lbs., and continuously stand, walk, and bend for an 8-hour shift.
