Position Overview

The Service Technician performs a wide range of tasks related to preventative maintenance and repair of heavy‐duty trucks and trailers. This role uses hand tools, measuring instruments, and power tools to complete quality repairs, installations, and maintenance on dry vans, flatbeds, reefers, truck bodies, and specialty trailers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform quality maintenance and repair on trailer equipment.
• Build, rebuild, and repair trailer components according to assigned specifications.
• Read and interpret job orders, ensuring proper corrective action and accurate documentation of repair processes.
• Assist other technicians on work orders requiring additional support.
• Communicate effectively with customers and vendors to provide excellent service and resolve issues.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• Previous mechanical, carpentry, or technician experience.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance tasks while following foreman/manager instructions.
• Ability to install components such as cross members, panels, posts, rails, door equipment, flooring, lights, wiring, brakes, valves, airlines, wheel‐end components, landing gear, frame assemblies, and other trailer parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to inspect system parts and safety devices for damage, wear, and structural deficiencies across all trailer types.
• Must provide own hand tools.

Requirements:

• Successful background screening, physical exam, drug screening, and proof of work authorization in the United States.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a non‐climate‐controlled service department.
• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift (8 hours per day) with occasional Saturday work.
