Make your mark with Nextracker.The Sr. Power Electronics Engineer will be based in Fremont, CA. Onboarding will be virtual for the time being with occasional socially distanced meetings at a Nextracker office. In this position, you will report to the Director, Power & Electrical Engineering. The Electrical Test Engineer will contribute to designing and developing all aspects of electrical and power electronics product for Nextracker’s tracker platform.Watch this video to learn why Nextracker is more than just a place to work.Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…Lead the electrical team from conception into production while working with a multidisciplinary team.Design and review schematic layout and PCB assembly.Review and analyze test data and reports to determine if the design meets functional and performance specifications.Lead trouble shooting and root cause analysis as needed.Collaborate with various teams including quality, NPI and production to deliver ideal manufacturing solutions.Work with firmware engineers who develop algorithms and application code for embedded controller.Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years or MS with 2+ years of experience in related fields.Strong power electronics fundamentals with hands-on experience in traditional and modern power electronic technologies.Solid knowledge of MOSFETs, IGBTs and passive power devices, e.g. inductors, capacitors, resistors and transformers.Familiarity with DC/DC and DC/AC topologies.Experiences with power electronics system architecture design and control algorithm development.Expert in electrical/power electronic circuitry and control simulation in Simulink/MATLAB or similar tools.Experience with sensor technology and implementation.Proficient in using lab instruments such as: oscilloscope, EMC analyzers and etc.Expert in gate drive design for MOSFET and IGBT.Experiences with schematic capture and PCB design.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Here are a few of our preferred experiences…Experience in GaN and/or SiC technology.Motor control and commutation methods for various types of three phase motors.Embedded firmware development experience.Job CategoryProduction EngineeringNextracker is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
