This role will report to the manufacturing supervisor and is based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.Role and ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret work instructions to determine specific welding requirementsWeld horizontal, vertical, and overhead positionsPosition and clamp parts together in fixturesAccurately count all pieces to ensure quality control of parts prior to weldingOperate welding equipment according to operating manualComplete required paperwork in a correct and timely mannerOperate hoist and power lift standLoad and unload jigsPerform leak testing checks on finished welding productsFollow standard operating procedures and/or work instructions exactly as written to produce a quality productFabricate components for use in a solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generatorMaintain all machine shop equipment and 5S upkeepNotify management of shop consumables (i.e. cutting oils, welding gasses, tooling and bits, etc.) in order to maintain inventoriesCreate assembly and fabrication fixturesAddress and recommend improved methods for creating hardware and assembliesPerform basic job functions as directed safely and efficientlyPerform other duties as assignedSkills and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required1 year required experience in TIG welding preferred2-3 years working experience preferred where hands on manufacturing practices were requiredRequired experience in following required work instructionsPreferred valid certificate in welding from an accredited institutionMust have mechanical skills and able to use basic shop tools and equipmentPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasksMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at a timeMust have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directedMust have excellent hand-eye coordinationMust wear personal protective equipment (PPE)Could be required to wear a respirator and pass a fit testBloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
