Welder, Direct HireOur client, a leading organization in advanced manufacturing and energy solutions, is seeking a dedicated welder to join their team. As a welder, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing department supporting the production of high-quality components. The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision, reliability, and a proactive attitude.Location: Fremont, CAPay Range: $32-$34 per hourShifts available: 6am-6pm (Sunday through Tuesday, alternating Wednesday) 6am-6pm (Thursday through Saturday, alternating Wednesday) 6pm-6am (Thursday through Saturday, alternating Wednesday)Role and Responsibilities:Read and interpret work instructions to determine specific welding requirementsWeld horizontal, vertical, and overhead positionsPosition and clamp parts together in fixturesAccurately count all pieces to ensure quality control of parts prior to weldingOperate welding equipment according to operating manualComplete required paperwork in a correct and timely mannerOperate hoist and power lift standLoad and unload jigsPerform leak testing checks on finished welding productsFollow standard operating procedures and/or work instructions exactly as written to produce a quality productFabricate components for use in a solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generatorMaintain all machine shop equipment and 5S upkeepNotify management of shop consumables (i.e. cutting oils, welding gasses, tooling and bits, etc.) in order to maintain inventoriesCreate assembly and fabrication fixturesAddress and recommend improved methods for creating hardware and assembliesPerform basic job functions as directed safely and efficientlyPerform other duties as assignedSkills and Experience:High school diploma or GED equivalent required.1 year required experience in TIG welding required2-3 years working experience preferred where hands on manufacturing practices were requiredRequired experience in following required work instructionsPreferred valid certificate in welding from an accredited institutionMust have mechanical skills and able to use basic shop tools and equipmentPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at a time.Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directed.Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).Could be required to wear a respirator and pass a fit test.What's in it for me?Opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environmentEngagement in meaningful manufacturing projectsDevelopment of specialized welding skills and experienceSupportive team environmentPotential for career growth within the organizationUpon completion of waiting period associates are eligible for:Medical and prescription drug plansDental planSupplemental life insuranceShort term disability insurance401(k)
