Sr. Professional Liability Attorney

  Professional Liability Attorney - 6-10 Years | Los Angeles

Join a growing litigation firm handling sophisticated professional liability matters - from legal malpractice to accounting and design-professional claims - where you will manage your own caseload, work directly with clients, and try cases, all on a hybrid schedule in Los Angeles.

What you'll do:

- Own a full professional liability caseload from intake through resolution, including claims against attorneys, accountants, insurance professionals, architects, and engineers
- Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and dispositive motions in California state and federal court
- Design and execute litigation strategy, including propounding and responding to written discovery
- Take and defend depositions independently and prepare witnesses for examination
- Handle court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations; serve as second chair in trial with a clear path to first chair
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular status updates and strategic guidance
- Collaborate with a team-oriented group of litigators on complex, multi-party matters

What you need:

- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active California Bar membership in good standing
- 6-10 years of civil litigation experience in California state and/or federal court
- Demonstrated experience in discovery management and motion practice, including dispositive motions
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills with the ability to manage cases independently
- Professional liability, legal malpractice, or a closely related business litigation background

Nice to have:

- Experience with accounting malpractice, insurance broker liability, or design-professional claims
- Prior trial experience as first or second chair
- Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and legal research technology (Westlaw, Relativity, or similar)
- Superior law school academic credentials
