Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a Critical Access Hospital requiring 2 years of experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Critical Access Hospital setting with varied patient acuity
• Medical Surgical unit with patient ratios that vary
• Maximum of 2 patients for tele/remote monitoring assignments
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd to 4th weekend
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license or compact license in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line/PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and peripheral line care
• Experience administering heparin and insulin, including IV insulin protocols
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience in Med/Surg, Neurological/Psychiatric, and Substance Withdrawal patient populations
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Orthopedic and total joint replacement experience preferred

• Provide direct patient care across varied acuity levels in a Med/Surg setting
• Support telemetry and remote monitoring patients
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
