Follow your heart to Virginia Heart!At Virginia Heart, we are looking for a professional **Patient Account Representative - Self Pay** who will be responsible for following up with patients regarding past due balances to collect payment for services rendered. This would involve setting up payment plans and processing payments via various methods and systems. May require discussion with patients or their representatives about Virginia Heart’s internal charity program and the INOVA charity program. May require reviewing EPIC schedules to check for self-pay patients prior to appointments. We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team in our outpatient cardiology setting. Our employees drive this culture, and we want you to be a part of it.Roles and Responsibilities:* Reviews delinquent accounts records.* Responsible for reviewing outstanding accounts in queue.* Maintains tickler file of accounts, following up by telephone and correspondence on outstanding balances.* Answers inquiries from patients, insurance carriers, offices in a timely manner.* Responsible for maintaining logs of balances collected.* Must be an expert in using the claims and billing system to its fullest capacity.* Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or Assistant Manager.Skill Requirements and Qualifications:* High School Diploma or equivalent required* CPT and ICD-10 CM coding criteria and guidelines preferred (preferably in cardiology)* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word required* EPIC experience preferred* Minimum of 1-year direct experience in healthcare billing and claims management (office, hospital, or physician practice) required* DME billing and collection experience is preferred* Knowledge of third-party payers required* Must possess excellent time management abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills* Applicants must currently reside within the DC Metro Area to be considered for this position.
