Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for adult CVOR patients, including pre-operative assessment, intraoperative support, and post-operative monitoring within the CVOR framework.
- Assist the surgical team as circulator and/or scrub nurse, maintain sterile technique, monitor vital signs and hemodynamics, and manage equipment and supplies for cardiovascular procedures.
- Ensure availability of implants, instruments, and medications; manage documentation in the EPIC system and medication handling in Omnicell according to policy.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and other team members; verify patient identity, procedure, site, and informed consent; support patient and family communication.
- Adhere to infection control guidelines, patient safety protocols, and on-call requirements; participate in on-call rotation and floating to other units if census allows.
- Maintain a 1:1 patient care standard on cases as applicable and follow CVOR unit protocols and orders.

Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum 1 year of experience in CVOR or adult perioperative nursing
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Familiarity with EPIC and Omnicell systems is preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital CVOR setting and participate in on-call rotations; capacity to float if needed per unit policy
