RN - PCU

Step-Down Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), with every other weekend and holidays required.

The Step-Down Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients with a range of complex medical conditions. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of recent Step-Down nursing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including performing frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks.
• Provide post-heart catheterization care and manage TR bands.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips as needed.
• Perform dysrhythmia management and EKG monitoring.
• Assist with respiratory care, including BiPAP and CPAP management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Step-Down nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification is required.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and IV management.
• Must have effective communication skills and be able to work collaboratively within a care team.
